Self-Image vs Self-Esteem… What’s the difference?

Self-esteem corresponds to our total feeling of regard for ourselves, and how positively (or negatively) we view ourselves.

A negative self-image can obviously impact self-esteem, and low self-esteem is likely to be accompanied by a negative self-image, as they're both "self" elements that are at least somewhat autonomous..

We do know, however, that our self-image is based on our perceptions of reality, that it is formed over a lifetime and changes with us, and that it is something we can influence.
