Many of us wonder, what does it take to become successful? Is there a formula? Is there something that successful people do that the rest of us don’t know about? Or does it all fall to luck?
Here’s the good news: it really is only 10% inspiration.
As for the other 90% ‘perspiration’? That’s also true. Successful people spend most of their time investing in their own futures.
Tony Robbins says, “If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten.” People who are always trying to improve themselves, to push higher past that 90% mark, are the ones who go beyond the average and mediocre.
That’s really the only secret to success – how much effort you are willing to put in.
“The path to success is to take massive, determined action.” -Tony Robbins
Of course, blind effort is wasted effort, so here are our 3 keys to investing in yourself to help guide you!
Most people stop learning after they’ve finished formal education, but that’s really doing yourself a disservice – learning is essential for growth.
Spend at least 30 minutes every day learning something – whether it’s through books, videos or podcasts. If done consistently, that’s 180+ hours of learning clocked in just 1 year. That’s the equivalent of an extra 4 hours of education, every single week!
Imagine the amount of knowledge you can amass with just that small effort every day! It’s compound interest working its magic, silently.
Make education a priority and you’ll be amazed at how far you can actually go.
It’s easy to take your health for granted when you have it, especially when balancing a hectic work schedule and home life. But if your health crashes, everything else goes too.
There should never be a point in your life when your ambition overshadows your health – the two go hand-in-hand.
So set aside those 30 minutes a day just for you. Walk, exercise and be active. The point is to get started and keep up that momentum no matter where you begin.
“The higher your energy level, the more efficient your body. The more efficient your body, the better you feel and the more you will use your talent to produce outstanding results.” -Tony Robbins
What does that mean, model a master?
It means find someone who is a master in the field you wish to pursue and study them. Learn their ways of thinking, their habits and how they got to where they are today.
By following someone who has already walked the path, you can not only learn from their mistakes, but also from their successes – shaving off countless hours of wasted effort.
“If you want to be successful, find someone who has achieved the results you want and copy what they do and you’ll achieve the same results.” -Tony Robbins
So there you have it: educate yourself, prioritise your health and find a master to model.
When you commit to these 3 steps, you are investing in yourself and your future – and you will grow faster than you ever thought possible!
